Saturday, the Dhaka Premier League observed an action packed, thrilling day as one of the matches ended in a tie, one match saw a team chase 330 successfully, while in the other game, a bottom-ranked side upset a top outfit.
Fazle Mahmud scored 149, the highest innings of this year’s tournament to help Brothers Union to 330/2, but that was not enough as Prime Bank Cricket Club made 331/5 in 48.5 overs to win the match at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka.
Brothers lost their skipper Junaid Siddique early but opener Mizanur Rahman, who made 100 off 109 balls, added 193 for the second wicket to lay a solid platform.
Yasir Ali smashed 61 off just 37 balls and formed an unbeaten 127-run stand with Fazle, who hit 13 boundaries and five sixes in his 147-ball innings, to help the side post a big total.

Prime Bank depended on their in-form skipper Anamul Haque, who has already scored three centuries in the tournament, and though he failed to make a big score, the opener’s innings of 54 off 47 ball gave them a useful platform.
Abhimanyu Easwaran scored 90 from 96 balls and stitched together a crucial 79-run stand off 75 balls with Al-Amin, who made 52, to keep the chase on track.
And the Sri Lankan got another great partner in the form of Alok Kapali as they added another 101 for the fourth wicket before the Lankan perished.
But the 35-year old Alok proved that experience matters as he navigated his side home with a brilliant 82-run innings that came of just 65 balls.
