Bangladesh U-19 cricket team are on the verge of conceding a first-innings lead in the second and final four-day match against their English counterparts, at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong Saturday.
At stumps on day two, the junior Tigers posted 194 runs losing six wickets in 68 overs, trailing the visiting side’s first-innings tally of 337 by 143 runs.
Mahmudul Hasan Joy was unbeaten on 62 off 172 balls while Shahadat Hossain made 56 off 111 deliveries.
If it weren’t for the 110-run sixth-wicket stand between Joy and Shahadat, the home side would have been in real trouble.

Earlier, resuming the second day on 295 for the loss of six wickets in 90 overs, England added 42 for the loss of their remaining four wickets in 12.5 overs.
George Hill top-scored for his side with 91 off 160 deliveries while Jamie Smith made a quick 126-ball 90.
Opener Ben Charlesworth chipped in with 63 off 132 balls.
Minhazur Rahman and Mujakkir Hussain bagged three wickets each for Bangladesh while Ruhel Ahmed and Asadullah Galib picked up two apiece.
