Earlier, Khaled Mashud was the manager of the Bangladesh U-23 team in the Emerging Asia Cup last year

Update : 02 Feb 2019, 09:34 PM

Former national captain Khaled Mashud has been selected as the new Bangladesh team manager for the upcoming away series against New Zealand.

The Tigers will play three ODIs and as many Test matches against the Kiwis.

The ODI series will start from February 13, while the first Test will begin on February 28.

Khaled Mahmud was the manager in the recent past for the Tigers but he left the position after the Asia Cup last year in the UAE.

After that, former Bangladesh captain Akram Khan was selected as the manager for the home series against Zimbabwe, and later, Debabrata Paul held the position against the West Indies at home.

Mashud has now been given the role by the BCB, confirmed the board president Nazmul Hasan after a meeting Saturday.

“We have been trying to use our former cricketers in various ways. We have taken Faisal Hossain Dickens and Talha Jubair, and tried to use their experience. Now we have given Mashud the team managerial role. Hopefully he will perform his duty well,” said the BCB boss to the media.

Earlier, Mashud was the manager of the Bangladesh U-23 team in the Emerging Asia Cup last year.
