Dhaka Dynamites captain Shakib al Hasan became the first player in Bangladesh Premier League history to take 100 wickets as he achieved the milestone during his BPL 6 match against Comilla Victorians in Mirpur Tuesday.
The premier all-rounder for Bangladesh reached the milestone in his 69th appearance in the tournament with an average of 16.85 and an economy rate of 6.64.
Apart from Dynamites, he has so far played for Rangpur Riders, Khulna Royal Bengals and Dhaka Gladiators.
Shakib came on to bowl in the 15th over with Comilla Victorians batsmen Shamsur Rahman and Shahid Afridi forming a counter-attacking partnership.

Shakib struck in the second ball of the over to send Afridi packing as the experienced Pakistani failed to properly connect a tossed up delivery and was caught at long on to make it 99 wickets.
In the fourth ball of that over he removed the well set Shamsur (48 runs off 35 balls) with another flighted delivery as the right-hander failed to time the ball correctly and sent a simple catch for the cover fielder to pounce on, and Shakib had his 100th scalp.
Shakib finished with match figure of 3/24 off four overs.
After Shakib, pacer Shafiul Islam has the most number of wickets in BPL history with 67 wickets.
