Bangladesh made a flying start in their second T20I against the West Indies, riding on opener Liton Kumar Das’ brisk half-century.
Liton scored 60 off just 34 balls before getting out in the last ball of the 12th over. The right-hander hit half a dozen fours and four sixes in his superb innings.
It was a good display of strokemaking against the West Indies quicks who created plenty of trouble in the first T20I in Sylhet. Liton’s four sixers came back-to-back on two occasions.
He smashed his first maximum in the fifth ball of the fourth over against Carlos Brathwaite, over fine leg. In the next ball, he charged down the ground and whacked it over deep square leg, a brilliant shot to watch in T20 cricket.
The next two over boundaries came in the sixth over against Oshane Thomas. The first six came over long off and the second came over deep fine leg, two more great shots by the opener.
So Liton used the pace of the Windies seamers quite well, and executed perfectly. And the result was, Bangladesh were off to a brilliant start and eventually posted 211 for the loss of four wickets in their stipulated 20 overs.
