Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim, who is suffering from a rib fracture, will be assessed in a week's time, informed BCB chief physician Dr Debashish Chowdhury to the media at the BCB premises Wednesday.
Mushfiq played the Asia Cup in the UAE with the injury but Dr Debashish said if the former Bangladesh captain feels better in a week's time, he will be able to resume training.

"Mushfiq has rib trauma or rib fracture. Any fracture needs four to six weeks to heal. But generally it takes more time for ribs as it is always on the move. So rib injuries take more time. Rib's fracture needs more time to heal. But Mushfiq batted with this rib trauma for hours so he is under complete rest at the moment. We will assess his condition after a week. If he feels better or feels no pain than he can join practice after a week," said Dr Debashish.
Despite the injury, Mushfiq scored a fine 144 against Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup opener before making 99 against Pakistan in the Super Four phase of the tournament.
