Bangladesh A team depart for Ireland

Soumya Sarkar and Nazmul Hossain Santo were named in the Bangladesh A team that is scheduled to play a five-match one-day series and a three-match T20 series

Bangladesh A team left for Ireland on Saturday for a 22-day-long tour. The team is scheduled to reach Dublin on the same day and get to work from Sunday.

Soumya Sarkar and Nazmul Hossain Santo have been named in the Bangladesh A team that is scheduled to play a five-match one-day series and a three-match T20 series. The duo are currently touring with the national team in West Indies. Top order batsman Nazmul is likely to join the A team following the ODI series against West Indies while Soumya will join the side in Ireland following the three-match T20I series against the Caribbean side.

Left-handed batsman Soumya was named captain of the T20 side while top order batsman Mominul Haque is set to lead the Bangladesh A team in the one-day series.

The BCB made a last minute inclusion of wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Mithun in place of Soumya for the one-day series against Ireland.

The series will begin for Bangladesh A team with the one-day games. The first three one-dayers will be played in Wicklow on August 1, 3 and 5 while the fourth and fifth one-dayers will be held on August 8 and 10 in Dublin. All the three T20s will be played in Dublin, on August 13, 15 and 17 accordingly.
