ACC Emerging Cup rescheduled to March 25

Update : 19 Feb 2017, 07:30 PM
The multi-nation ACC tournament, scheduled to be hosted by Bangladesh, was initially set to begin on March 15 but will now start 10 days later. The tournament has also been turned into a six-team event, from the initial eight, after Hong Kong and the UAE withdrew due to busy schedule. BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury confirmed that the tournament has been pushed back to March 25. The grand finale will be held on April 5. At this point, the six participating teams are – Afghanistan and Nepal national sides and U-23 teams from subcontinental outfits India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and host Bangladesh. The four-Test playing nations will be able to name four national cricketers. The venues for the tournament are yet to be decided by the BCB. The final is likely to be held in Mirpur's Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, despite the ongoing renovation work. “Initially we have decided to hold matches at BKSP, Fatullah and Cox’s Bazar. The final will be held in Mirpur,” informed Nizamuddin.
