Ahead of their game against North Zone, East Zone coach Sarwar Imran said, “Mominul [Haque] was not with us in one game. Batting wise, we are satisfied. But still, we can improve our batting. As far as our bowling is concerned, our pace bowlers lack discipline and mental toughness to bowl consistently throughout the four days. Some of them were injury prone. That’s why we couldn’t display our full strength in bowling. “We are one (two) point behind the table-topper. While the third placed side are only one point behind us. Whichever team play well in the last two rounds will become champion.” With the exception of only one match, all the other games in this season’s BCL ended in draws. However, Sarwar believes, “There should have been results in both the matches of the fourth round. But both the games ended in draws due to the weather and the conditions. If the matches had run for four full days, there would have been results. “The wicket in Sylhet was good, with equal chances for the batsmen and bowlers. The recent results were all draws but each game was competitive. We didn’t take risk while chasing. But yes, the matches were competitive.”
