Bangladesh women’s squad named for national camp

A 30-member Bangladesh women’s cricket team squad will take part in the preparation camp ahead of their tour of South Africa this year. The camp will be held in Sylhet, starting from Thursday. The BCB through a media release Monday named the cricketers involved in the preliminary squad. They have been asked to report to the BCB National Cricket Academy in Mirpur Tuesday. The cricketers will travel to Sylhet Thursday. The women in red and green are scheduled to leave Dhaka on April 28 for the tour of South Africa. Bangladesh are scheduled play five ODIs and three T20Is against the South Africans. Bangladesh’s tour of South Africa is part of the BCB’s long-term plan to get the women ready for the 2018 World T20 qualifier, slated for the Netherlands in July. The Bangladesh women have to qualify to take part in the main event, scheduled to take place in the West Indies in November this year. Ireland, Papua New Guinea, Scotland, the Netherlands, Uganda, Thailand and the UAE are the participating teams in the World T20 qualifier.
