Bangladesh U17 level series against Afghans

Bangladesh U-17 cricket team registered a comprehensive seven-wicket win over their Afghanistan counterpart Sunday in Greater Noida in the second and penultimate game to level the three-match one-day series 1-1. Batting first, the Afghans were skittled out for just 121 in 44.2 overs, wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Ishaq top-scoring with 44. In what was a dominant bowling performance by Bangladesh, only three batsmen from the designated home side reached double figure. Bangladesh’s Mrittunjoy Chowdhury and Mehedi Hasan bagged three wickets each. In reply, the junior Tigers romped home in 33 overs, opener Prantik Nabil scoring the highest 37 for his side.

He received valuable support from fellow opener Mohammad Tahsin, who scored 34. The third and final game will be held at the same venue Tuesday. The Afghans had won the first match by 17 runs Friday.
