Sanjamul, Tanbir in squad for first SL Test after Shakib injury

Left-arm spinner Sanjamul Islam and all-rounder Tanbir Hayder have been included in the Bangladesh squad for the first of two Test matches against Sri Lanka. The first Test begins in Chittagong's Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Cricket Stadium Wednesday. The BCB announced the names in place of the injured Bangladesh Test captain Shakib al Hasan. Shakib was ruled out of action for a week after he picked up an injury during the grand finale of the tri-nation ODI series against the Lankans at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka Saturday. The left-arm all-rounder injured his little left finger in the 42nd over of the Sri Lanka innings. The Bangladesh cricketer was immediately rushed to hospital where x-ray did not find any fracture. There was however, joint sprain at the base of the finger which was assessed by a cosmetic surgeon and necessary repairs were made.

Bangladesh Test vice-captain Mahmudullah is set to take charge of the team in place of Shakib.
