Shakib on list of IPL's most expensive players ahead of auction

Ace Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib al Hasan was included in the most expensive player’s list for the Indian Premier League T20 auction. This was revealed by the IPL authority, who released a list with the base prices. Shakib, who as an integral part of the Kolkata Knight Riders squad for seven years, has been released by the franchise ahead of the IPL 2018 player retentions.

In the list, some of the biggest names in world cricket will change hands for huge amounts of money during the auction as teams try and put together a winning combination of players. Ben Stokes, Mitchell Starc, Kieron Pollard, Yuvraj Singh, Ravichandran Ashwin, Shikhar Dhawan, Glenn Maxwell, Ajinkya Rahane, Harbhajan Singh, Joe Root, Faf du Plessis, Dwayne Bravo and Kane Williamson are the other names in the list..

The IPL auction will take place Saturday and Sunday. With Indian rupees two crore as the highest reserve price, 36 players, including 13 Indians, have opted for the top bracket. Marquee players Ashwin, Gautam Gambhir, Dhawan, Rahane, Harbhajan , Yuvraj, Chris Gayle, Stokes, Williamson, Maxwell, Root, Starc, Du Plessis, Bravo, Pollard and Shakib – each priced at Indian rupees two crore – will set the tone as an intense battle is set to follow.
