Bangladesh cricketers will play a practice match between themselves at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka Saturday.
The BCB has announced two teams - BCB red and BCB green – selecting 12 players for each side. The national camp started with 32 players and later Nurul Hasan was also included. But apart from the 24 players who were selected for the practice game, the other cricketers were released from the camp.
The players who were left out are Nurul, Subashish Roy, Mominul Haque, Shafiul Islam, Mosaddek Hossain, Taijul Islam, Sadman Islam, Kamrul Islam Rabbi and Mahedi Hasan and all of these players will play the upcoming Bangladesh Cricket League, which will start Tuesday.
Bangladesh team’s technical director Khaled Mahmud informed that the practice sessions turned out to be good for the Tigers, ahead of the tri-nation series, and that the team will be ready to face the challenge in the next few days. There were slight injury concerns with Soumya Sarkar and Sabbir Rahman as both the batsmen got hit on their hands while batting. But later, Mahmud informed that both the batsmen are okay and ready to take part in the practice match.
“I am happy with the practice sessions and the fitness level of the players. We started skill training from [Thursday]. Batsmen are in good form. We have seen some changes in the approach and attitude from the fast bowlers in the last few days. We still have seven-eight days before the tri-series. Hopefully we will be fully prepared for the tri-series,” said Mahmud.
