Nothing changes for Shakib after KKR exclusion

Update : 04 Jan 2018, 11:00 PM
Ace Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib al Hasan has no reaction to Kolkata Knight Riders’ decision not to retain him for the upcoming season of the IPL T20. According to reports, the Knight Riders released Shakib for the players’ auction for the 11th edition of the T20 franchise league. The auction will be held on January 27 and 28 in Bangalore. Shakib has featured in the IPL for the Knight Riders for the past seven editions of the tournament and was considered a key member. The table however, turned for the Bangladesh cricketer after he played only one match for the Shahrukh Khan-owned franchise last year. KKR had finished third in the playoff in the last edition of the IPL.

The Bangladesh Test and T20I captain Shakib has been released by KKR for this year and will now have to fight for his luck in the auction. “There is nothing to feel about it. Will be happy if I get picked in the auction, if not, there is no problem,” said Shakib to the media in the sideline of the national camp in Dhaka Thursday. Seven other Bangladesh cricketers alongside Shakib will be seen in the auction this year. Opener Tamim Iqbal, all-rounder Mahmudullah, off-spinner Mehedi Hasan Miraz, wicketkeeper-batsman Liton Das, batsman Sabbir Rahman and pacers Mustafizur Rahman and Abul Hasan have registered for the auction. IPL 2018 is scheduled to start on April 4.
