Jayed took 18 wickets at an economy rate of 8.95 for Khulna Titans in BPL 5, emerging as the second highest wicket taker behind all-rounder Shakib al Hasan (22). And the paceman has informed that he is confident of performing well if given the opportunity in the starting XI, be it with the ball or bat. “I have worked with my batting during High Performance training. And that worked out for me in the National Cricket League. I scored a fifty there and my team won the game. It’s important to add some runs as a lower-order batsman. If we can support our batsmen in the late order, and add some runs, then it will definitely be good for the team,” said Jayed after training at Mirpur Academy Ground in Dhaka.

“This is the first time I got called up to the national team. Obviously I am excited. I am working on my fitness. Also, I am working on skills, like lower-order batting, and bowling as well. “Obviously I am confident after the BPL as I have taken quite a few wickets there against overseas players. And in the national camp I am getting help and advice from senior players like Shakib bhai and Mushfiqur [Rahim] bhai. I am confident that I can handle pressure in the international level if I get the chance. “All the pacers - 11 in the national camp - are working really hard. We are hopeful that we, the pace bowlers will perform well in the upcoming series” he concluded.
