Bangladesh cricketer Mehedi Hasan Miraz Monday afternoon got the document of land promised earlier by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Miraz received the document from Khulna Development Authority chairman Brig. Gen. Mohammad Ahsanul Haque Mia.
The Bangladesh all-rounder was allocated land in Khulna's Mujgunni residential area. The plot is worth Tk 57 lakhs.
After receiving the document, Miraz said, "I got the document of the land. Construction work will start soon. The Prime Minister fulfilled her promise of giving me the land. I, and behalf of my family express gratitude to the Prime Minister."
Miraz's father Jalal Hossain informed that he is thankful to the Prime Minister, and also thanked the journalists due to whom the Premier got to know about their family's condition.
It should be mentioned that Miraz grew up in Khulna at a tin-shed house surrounded by bamboo sticks.
