Rajshahi Kings name Sammy as their captain

Rajshahi Kings have announced Darren Sammy as their captain for the BPL T20 5 season. Sammy led Rajshahi last year as they progressed to the grand finale. This year, Rajshahi have signed Mushfiqur Rahim as their icon player. Mushfiq, current captain of the Bangladesh Test match team, had a tough tour of South Africa and only returned home last week.Team management believes Mushfiq needs some rest and should play with less pressure as he is their main batsman. So they opted to retain Sammy as their captain and keep Mushfiq as vice captain. Sammy won two World Cups for the West Indies as skipper. “I like to thank Rajshahi management for giving me the opportunity to lead the side once again. We have Mushfiq as a vice captain and he is our main batsman. He can inspire the team from behind the stumps,” said Sammy during the press conference at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium Friday."Our team (are) quite like Bangladesh. We have some good left-arm spinners. Unfortunately Mustafizur [Rahman] is injured. But I am very pleased with the team. I believe we can play even better cricket and can reach into the next level this year,” Sammy added.
