Mominul returns, Saifuddin earns maiden ODI call-up for SA series

The BCB on Thursday announced the 16-man squad for the three-match ODI series against South Africa, starting October 15 at De Beers Diamond Oval in Kimberley. All-rounder Saifuddin received his maiden ODI call-up while opener Tamim Iqbal was named despite nursing an injury in his left thigh muscle. Saifuddin made his T20I debut against Sri Lanka back in April this year. Meanwhile, all-rounder Shakib al Hasan will join the limited-over squad after resting during the two-Test series against the Proteas.

All-rounder Nasir Hossain also returned to the squad. Nasir played in the tri-series against host Ireland and New Zealand in June but wasn’t included in the 2017 Champions Trophy squad. From the Test squad, left-arm spinner Taijul Islam and pacers Subashish Roy and Shafiul Islam will return home.
