Duminy to lead CSA XI against Bangladesh as De Villiers returns

AB de Villiers will return to white-ball action for the Proteas as he will play against the Tigers in the practice game in Bloemfontein’s Mangaung Oval on October 12, ahead of the three-match ODI series between South Africa and Bangladesh three days later. South Africa have chosen JP Duminy as the captain for the Cricket South Africa Invitation XI which will play against Bangladesh.

“Now that JP has retired from first-class cricket this will be a quality match-play opportunity for him ahead of the Momentum ODI Series,” commented CSA national selection panel convener Linda Zondi. “We are expecting AB to play in the next round of Sunfoil Series matches but he too will benefit from some game-time in the shorter format.
