“I think it is a great position. I think the pitch seems to have mellowed out a little bit compared to day one. I mean, I think keeping our target to 260 really kept us in the game and to finish off [Tuesday night] like we did, if we have a good first hour [Wednesday] it should really set the game up. Warner played a pivotal role in Australia’s surge during the difficult run chase and Cummins said the left-handed opener changed the mindset of chasing with his quickfire unbeaten half-century. “David Warner is such a big player for us and you could just see it in his eye when he was out there. He was so focused. We always say ‘be the bull’ and he looked like he was ‘the bull’ out there; just focussed and taking the game on. He got his 50 rapidly and I think it just changes the whole momentum but also the mindset for the other batsmen who are to come in, just taking the game on. It is great,” explained the right-arm pacer. Cummins took the crucial wicket of opener Tamim Iqbal when the Bangladesh cricketer was heading towards his ninth hundred and give the Tigers a healthy lead.

The brilliant delivery that get rid of Tamim was crucial in the context of the match and Cummins gave credit to wicket-keeper Matthew Wade and all-rounder Glenn Maxwell for reviewing the original decision. “I think it just kicked off a length. I think the pitch is doing a couple of little things every now and then but it was just one that happened to kick up a bit and fortunately hit the glove,” said the 24-year old.
