Update : 01 Apr 2016, 04:09 AM

Indian cricket fans have reacted to Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim's Twitter post over the match between West Indies and India.

West Indies cruised to the final spot of ICC World Twenty20 after beating India by seven wickets on Thursday night.

Soon after the match, Mushfiqur posted a tweet on his official Twitter page expressing his happiness at India’s loss.

The tweet caused an uproar on Twitter forcing Mushfiqur to delete it from his account.

However, he later posted an apology on the same account clarifying his intention for the tweet, as he was only tweeting as a big West Indies fan.

The tournament had a lot of similarities with the match between Bangladesh and India held on March 23. Mushfiqur had blamed himself for the one-run defeat of the Tigers.

Earlier, Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was criticised by Bangladeshi fans after he posted a tweet on his official Twitter account over the match between Bangladesh and Oman which was held on March 13.

Ashwin's tweet read: "Can't wait to see the Bangladesh v Oman game. If Bangladesh win, the whole country will be happy but if Oman does cricket will be happy."
