Bangladesh Cricket Board yesterday announced the 15-member squad for the upcoming Asia Cup Twenty20, scheduled to be hosted by Bangladesh from February 24 onward.
Dashing opening batsman Tamim Iqbal, who earlier asked for a leave to be beside his expecting wife, made way for Imrul Kayes in the 15-man squad. The same squad will also take part in the forthcoming World T20.
Kayes was rewarded for his form in the third edition of the Bangladesh Premier League T20 where he finished as the second highest run-scorer of the tournament with 312 runs in 12 matches.
Meanwhile, young fast bowler Abu Haider Rony and wicketkeeper-batsman Nurul Hasan retained their places from the previous squad.
