Bangladesh will face India in what is expected to be a blockbuster Asia Cup opener on February 24 as the Asian Cricket Council announced the schedule of the 14th edition yesterday.
Bangladesh will be hosting the tournament, which will be played according to the Twenty20 format, for the fifth time. All the 11 matches, including the grand finale on March 6, will take place in Mirpur.
The Lankans, and the Indians, will be looking to lift the title for a record sixth time while Pakistan will be targeting their third.
The Tigers on the other hand will also be confident about their chances after reaching the final in 2012 when they hosted the tournament.
Before the tournament proper, Afghanistan, United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong and Oman will face each other once from February 19-22 to determine who will join Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the main round.
