The Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League will see a re-introduction of the “Players by Choice” system in order to determine the destination of the local cricketers for the upcoming 2015-16 season. The decision to implement the system was taken in the Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis meeting last Thursday and is now awaiting the final approval from the Bangladesh Cricket Board.
The DPL, premier domestic 50-over tournament of the country, had moved away from its tradition of roping in cricketers through direct contracts in its 2013-14 season. The system was formulated after several clubs demanded a level-playing field and the CCDM duly agreed to the proposal.
And following a one-year hiatus, it looks like the system is back once again, pending the final nod from the BCB.
