Barisal Bulls skipper Mahmudullah and ace batter Shahriar Nafees propelled the team’s total into a fighting figure of 156 at the final of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Tuesday.
Mahmudullah hammer 48 off 36 deliveries hitting six boundaries and a maximum and Shahriar scored an unbeaten 44-run innings hitting two boundaries and three whirlwind maximums.
Earlier, Prasanna got the Bulls off to a quick start and threatened to take the game away from the Victorians, before he was outdone by a slower delivery from Darren Stevens.
The off-cutters from the Victorians' bowlers put a break on the flow of runs during the middle overs and at one point it appeared that the Bulls won't be able to cross the 150-mark.
However, it was some late charge from skipper Mahmudullah which did the trick. He hit Mortaza for a six and a couple of boundaries in the 15th over of the innings to give the Bulls the much-needed impetus.
Comilla Victorians won the toss and decided to field first.
