Comilla Victorians have won the match against Dhaka Dynamites by 10 runs.
Earlier, Dhaka Dynamites scored 131 runs losing six wickets after 20 overs.
Shykat Ali and Sangakkara were run out at 8 and 30 respectively while Shuvagata Hom picked Shadman Islam for 10. Abu Haider dismissed Nasir for 32 and Waller for 11 while Mashrafe took the wicket of Doeschate at 10.
Some lusty blows at the end from Pakistani born English cricketer Ashar Zaidi helped Comilla Victorians to post 141/7 in twenty overs after struggling early on against Dhaka Dynamites at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury stadium in Chittagong.
Zaidi remained unbeaten on 45 off just 29 balls featuring three sixes and two fours as Comilla added sixty runs in the last five overs to post a challenging total.
Earlier Pakistani cricketers Shoiab Malik and Ahmed Shehzad featured for Comilla but they were in all sorts of trouble after being asked to bat.
Young Liton Kumar Das was the second highest scorer with 31 runs but Shehzad (9), Imrul Kayes (7), Malik (8) and skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza departed cheaply and made things difficult for the batting side.
However Zaidi along with Shuvagata Hom added 45 runs in the seventh wicket where the latter scored a quick-fire 21 off just eleven deliveries to post a formidable total.
Farhad Reza and Pakistani leg spinner Yasir Shah took two wickets each for Dhaka Dynamites.
Despite a good start to their campaign in Dhaka, Comilla Victorians and Dhaka Dynamites find themselves battling for the third spot in the six-team Bangladesh Premier League points table.
Halfway through the tournament, after five matches both teams have accumulated six points from three wins.
The Victorians started their campaign with a dull six-wicket defeat to the Dynamites, but a lot has changed since the November 22 evening in Dhaka. Comilla slowly found their feet in the format and their confidence level received a huge boost after the arrival of Pakistani duo Ahmed Shehzad and Shoaib Malik on Tuesday.
Considered as T20 specialists, Shehzad and Malik were in Sharjah playing for Pakistan against England and both the right-handed batsmen flew to Bangladesh immediately after completing of the series on Monday night.
Meanwhile, leaving leg-spinner Yasir Shah cost Dhaka a nine-wicket defeat to Barisal Bulls on Tuesday evening as they failed to defend 160 runs. Kumar Sangakkara remains the only batsman in the Dynamites line-up who possesses big threat to their opponents.
However, their bowling department looks strong after the arrival of 6’ 2” pace bowler Mohammad Irfan.
