A total of 82 players, including 19 foreign players, were drafted into the third edition of the Bangladesh Premier League Twenty20 through lottery-based players-by-choice transfer system on Thursday.
The players by choice draft of the season was held at Radisson hotel in Dhaka. Bangladesh Cricket Board held the auction to pick up local and foreign players.
The six franchises of BPL– Dhaka Dynamites, Chittagong Vikings, Comilla Victorians, Barisal Bulls, Rangpur Riders and Sylhet Super Stars –battled it out in the behind-the-doors players’ draft and picked their squad from a list of 123 local and 196 foreign cricketers.
It was mandatory for each side to pick at least 11 local players, including the icon cricketer, and three foreign cricketers from the draft.
