Bangladesh and Rajshahi Kings batsman Sabbir Rahman portrayed himself innocent against allegations that he breached disciplinary code in the ongoing fourth edition of the Bangladesh Premier League Twenty20. Sabbir posted a video message on his official Facebook page claiming that he was not involved in any wrongdoing.
The right-handed batsman was fined 30 percent of his BPL contract after being found guilty of serious off-the-field disciplinary violation by the governing council. Sabbir was categorised under the “Grade A+” (Tk40 lakhs) bracket in the BPL players' draft.
Sabbir was also reminded of his responsibility as a national cricketer and has been warned that any repeat of similar acts of indiscretion in future will result in harsher penalty.

In the video message on social media, Sabbir said, “I want to give a message to my fans regarding some personal matters of mine. Recently, some allegations have been raised against me among the media and Facebook. As a fan, do you really believe I am capable of such acts?
“Look, I have many fans – be it girls, boys, young and old. I can’t deny anyone who want to take pictures with me. I often go to restaurants or shopping malls or to see films, many times the fans ask me to take a picture with them. Sometimes I have to take single pictures with them upon requests. Then, these pictures are uploaded on Facebook or social media. If any person misuses the pictures, is it my fault? I don’t think so.
“If you believe I am capable of such acts then I have nothing to say. But if you believe I am innocent then please share the video. I am urging everyone to pray for me so that I can perform better for you. Thank you.”
