We have to continue our winning habit: Mominul

Update : 13 Sep 2015, 07:00 PM

The Mominul Haque-led Bangladesh A team will travel to India today for three one-dayers and two three-day matches. The second-string Bangladesh side will play all of their games against their Indian counterparts bar the first three-dayer against Ranji Trophy champions Karnataka during their 18-day tour.

And according to cool customer Mominul, the visiting Bangladesh A side, comprising several national cricketers, are hopeful of winning both the series.

“Why cannot we win? If we can play good cricket, we have the possibility of winning the series. And they (India A) also know we are a good unit. Bangladesh have been playing brilliant cricket recently. Every cricketer is in form. We have 10 Test cricketers in the squad and I think we will be able to display good cricket,” said Mominul.

The diminutive southpaw from Cox’s Bazar, who never skippered a side in any forms of cricket, informed that he will enjoy the rigours of captaincy, even when he goes out to bat.

“There will be some pressure when you play at this level. And it is better not to play cricket if you are not able to cope up with the pressure as it is not street cricket. It’s about playing for the national side or the A side. We have to continue our winning habit. We do not want to lose and we will play keeping that in mind,” he said.

Mominul is a regular fixture in the Tigers’ ODI squad but has been unable to stake a place for himself in the Test arena. The 23-year old cricketer said he will try to be among the runs in the tour, that will in turn bring him back to Test reckoning.
