Sprinters Jahir Raihan and Sohagi Akter reigned supreme in the 200m event at the National Summer Athletics at Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka Saturday. Sohagi tasted disappointment a day earlier when she agonisingly lost out on the 100m event to Shirin Akter but the former ensured of sealing the 200m event in 25.1s, ahead of the latter.
Despite the 200m success, Sohagi said, “The timing was not that good due to fatigue. But it feels good to win the 200m title again.”
Jahir on the other hand took 21.7s to cross the finishing line. Jahir also clinched the 400m title Friday at the same venue.
