Bangladesh national team forward Sanjida Akter received offer from East Bengal FC to feature for the Kolkata based outfit in the ongoing Indian Women’s League.
The 22-year old winger accepted the offer and has applied for Indian visa to join the new club as soon as possible, said a Bangladesh Football Federation source.
It will be first time Sanjida would be making her mark in the Indian Women’s League if she eventually gets into the East Bengal squad.
East Bengal are struggling in the league with only three points from four matches to sit second from bottom in the seven-team points table.
Bangladesh captain Sabina Khatun earlier signed for second-placed Kickstart FC to begin her second spell in the neighborhood league.
