Argentina's world cup victory in Doha after a long wait of 36 years was celebrated in a whole other level in Rajbari as the Argentinian fans marched with a 600-foot flag in Goalanda.
The fans brought out the victory procession on Tuesday around 11am.
Hundreds of Argentina supporters from different parts of the upazila participated in the procession. Bangladeshi football fans chanted "Messi, Messi," and danced to the beat of flute and band party.
People of different ages including children enjoyed the celebration.
One of the organizers of the victory procession, the councilor Nasir Uddin Roni of Goalanda Municipality said: "Many people of Bangladesh support Argentina. I have been a fan of Argentina since Maradona's time. So I did this joyous procession to wish the beloved team.”
Ratul Ahmed Sajal, Argentina supporter and municipal Chhatra League president, said: "We were beyond happy in the victory of our favorite team. Therefore, we had to participate in the joyous procession."
