Argentina supporters in Rajshahi shedded tears of joy in the streets after their favorite team won the much awaited World Cup final on Sunday.
Hundreds of football fanatics were seen on the roads wearing the Argentine jersey, holding posters to cheer for the Latin American team.
They also brought out processions, and organized picnics at various points of the city.
Dhaka TribuneOne of the Argentina supporters, Abu Saeed, said: “Argentina played better than we expected. After the loss in the first match, we were sure that Argentina would win the World Cup this time. And finally it happened!”
Another supporter, Johnny Ahmed, said that his favorite team, Argentina, showed a great performance in the game against France.
Dhaka Tribune“Apart from Messi, the team's performance was worth enjoying,” he added.
Argentina won their third World Cup trophy after the final in Qatar on Sunday.
