Taneem Rahman Angshu is returning to feature filmmaking with "Limbo," with Biplab Goswami, screenwriter of the Bollywood film “Laapataa Ladies," joining the project as screenplay writer.
Angshu announced Goswami's involvement on social media on Wednesday. He said the project is being developed around a story that could offer a different genre and treatment in Bangladeshi cinema.
Angshu previously described “Limbo” as a cosmic romance and space drama. He said the film will focus on space and cosmic themes and will feature visual effects as a major part of its production.
The film is planned to be shot in 3 countries and will be submitted to international film festivals before its commercial release in Bangladesh.
Angshu, who directed “No Dorai," said several projects had been under consideration over the past 6-7 years. He said he chose “Limbo” because of the challenges involved in making the film in Bangladesh.
Angshu is developing the story and producing the film, while Goswami is writing the screenplay. “Limbo” is scheduled for a theatrical release in 2027.
