Actress and director Afsana Mimi’s feature film “Laal Batir Neel Pori” also known as “Red Lights Blue Angels” has won the Best Project Award at the 7th Haniff-Hanoi International Film Festival in Vietnam.
The project managed to stand out against seven other international contenders in the Film Project Market category. The screenplay was co-written by Mimi with producer Tanveer Hossain.
The festival took place at the historic Ho Guom Theatre in Hanoi on November 11 where the film was awarded.
Tanveer Hossain wrote on Facebook expressing his gratefulness and thank all the people that have helped him in this conquest, he wrote, “
So thrilled to share that our film project “Red Lights Blue Angels” has taken another step forward, winning 1st Prize at the 7th Haniff - Hanoi International Film Festival Project Market! My heartfelt Thanks to all the respected Jury Quang Binh Nguyen Phan, Jodi Hildebrand, Lee Jin Sung and Thibaut Bracq. Watching this project grow has been such a rewarding journey. My deepest gratitude to Thao Tran Phuong, Bich Thuy and all the the festival organizers for their incredible hospitality, going above and beyond..."
He also expressed that he couldn’t be there due to a scheduling conflict but Afsana was present, representing the both of them.

The project won the first prize and $5,000 in cash at the West Meets East Screenplay Lab in January during the Dhaka International Film Festival.
