Abul Hayat has had a career that has spanned six decades. Throughout his career, he has been involved in acting, writing, and directing, showing great dynamism.

Even after graduating in civil engineering from Buet, he could not steer away from art and culture, choosing to leave lucrative jobs and careers for acting.

Now, there is an opportunity to learn about the stories from this artistic journey, as Abul Hayat has completed writing his autobiography titled “Robi Path.”

The actor revealed that his nickname is Robi, a name his father affectionately gave him, inspired by Rabindranath Tagore.

Hence, he named the book “Robi Path,” through which Abul Hayat will share his entire journey from childhood Robi to today's Abul Hayat. The writing part is done, and the cover illustration is currently underway, handled by the actor's daughter, the talented actress and painter Bipasha Hayat.

Abul Hayat shared that it took him ten years to finish the book, although it will only be about 300 pages long and published by Subarna Prakashani.

He mentioned: "I am quite a lazy person. I would write a bit, then leave it aside. Sometimes I wrote a chapter, sometimes just a page, and then did not write for many days. It was mainly due to pressure from my elder daughter, Bipasha, that I had to finish it, as I could no longer handle her persistent reminders. Meanwhile, my younger daughter Natasha settled the publishing house. So, it was under their combined pressure that I managed to finish the book after ten years."

Although the two daughters aimed to publish the book by their father’s 80th birthday on September 7, it will now be released sometime in September, as Abul Hayat confirmed using the publisher’s information.

Responding to a question about what aspects of his life the autobiography covers, he said: "I have written about the things that I felt needed to be told, from my birth to the present. When you write, you realize what needs to be included and what might be better left out. I hope this book will offer a complete view of my entire journey."

Abul Hayat was born on September 7, 1944, in Murshidabad, India.

In 1947, he moved to Chittagong with his family by train. He first took to the stage at the age of 10, a passion for acting that he continues to indulge in to this day.
