Once again, the Bollywood king is in legal trouble with his upcoming film Raees. Shah Rukh Khan's last two releases may have let a few hearts down, but the actor and producer hasn't been fazed as he moved on to his new project.
However, a case was filed against him and the makers of Raees in a local court in Ahmedabad. The defamation suit was filed by Mushtaq Sheikh, the son of erstwhile underworld don Abdul Latif.
In the 101 crore rupee case, Sheikh seeks to bar the airing of the film's promos, trailers, and news publications on the ground that it projects his father, who had a “high reputation” in society, in a negative manner.
Sheikh was promised that his father, Abdul Latif, would be projected in a positive manner. He claims that the film could bring a bad name to his family since the writers, directors, actors and producers of the film did not keep their promise.
Apparently, the local court issued notices to those involved in the film including Shah Rukh Khan, his wife Gauri Khan, actor Farhan Akhtar, director Rahul Dholakia and producer Ritesh Sidhwani, along with three filmmaking companies.
