Popular rock band Bangla Five was featured in the fourth episode of “Dhaka Sessions” season four. The much-anticipated episode aired on Saturday, December 4, on YouTube.
“Our band consists of four members. The fifth member is you, the audience member. This is why platforms like Dhaka Sessions are so important because they help bridge the gap between us,” said band member Sina.
Guitarist Anik said, “We are going to perform acoustic versions of our songs exclusively for Dhaka Sessions. We are grateful to the organizers for providing a platform for independent artists in the country.”
The band performed “Ami Chute Jai,” “Last Bench,” “Confusion,” “Koi Jao?” and others.
The latest season of Dhaka Sessions took off with TV personality/singer Nobonita Chowdhury, followed by young, folk singer Pushpita. The show features artists, musicians, writers, and creative arts personalities of Bangladeshi origin.
The first season was launched on November 14, 2020, with popular band, Nemesis. The sessions have so far featured artists like Ferdous Ahmed, Arnob, Labik Kamal Gaurob, Arbovirus, Leemonade, Tashfee, Armeen Musa, Robert Russell Trio, Imran Ahmed Trio and so on.
Formed in 2017, Bangla Five released their debut album “Confusion” during the 2019 Him Utshob at the Jahangirnagar University, earning a broad fan base among the youth in the country.
More than twenty thousand people attended the recent live concert staged at Dhaka University where the band performed their most popular songs. They have also held concerts in Nepal and India.
The current line-up features Ahnaf Khan Anik (guitar), Rafin Mahmud (bass), Adnan Rushdi (cajon) and Sina Hasan (vocal and harmonica).
