Rahmat Ullah, producer of Dhallywood Nawab Shakib Khan-starring 2017 film Operation Agneepath, filed a defamation case against actor Shakib Khan, seeking compensation of Tk100 crore.
The case was filed at the First Joint District Judge's Court of Judge Md Masudul Haque on Sunday.
On April 13, Rahmat Ullah filed a defamation case against Shakib Khan in Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rashidul Alam's court. The court accepted the statement of the plaintiff and directed the PBI to investigate the case.
Earlier, his lawyer sent a legal notice to Shakib Khan for making deceitful and offensive comments to the media.
Earlier, Shakib Khan went to the Gulshan police station to file a case against Rahmat Ullah on March 18, but the police did not register the case. Shakib expressed dissatisfaction regarding the role of the police.
On the next day, he filed a written complaint against Rahmat at the Detective Branch (DB) office.
Shakib Khan fears that Rahmat Ullah may flee the country at any time. That is why he hastily approached the law.
Rahmat Ullah claims to be the producer of Operation Agneepath but according to Shakib, the main producer of this movie is Jaane Alam of Vertex Media.
In an angry tone, the superstar actor had said: "Rahmat Ullah cheated millions by spreading lies to everyone. I believe Rahmat Ullah is not alone in this game. Many other people are involved behind him.”
