Prova has plenty of controversies in social media and publications. She has, however, been avoiding the media for more than ten years for a variety of reasons. At a press conference on the evening of April 1, the mystery was ultimately solved where a meeting with Prova took place. Along with the media, union representatives were also present.
The actress had recently received a legal notice from a lawyer, which was the primary reason for her briefing. Joinal Abedin Mazhari, a lawyer from Comilla, has sent the legal notice to acknowledge wrongdoing regarding the publishing and scandal surrounding the video from a decade and a half ago, to apologize publicly, and to pledge not to do such things in the future. According to the notification, Prova is currently the subject of new media coverage. She didn't say much about it for a while.
On Saturday night, she was scheduled to give a speech about the topic, but things went the other way. In the entire briefing, she assigned responsibility to the journalists. She explained her reasons for avoiding the media. She even claimed that physical harassment is another reason why she avoids it. Prova first discussed her aversion to the media. This is the primary reason she rarely posts anything to her social media accounts, and even when she does, she always deletes it. Even speaking out about her different rights in life is impossible for her out of concern for creating a stir.
According to Prova, "When I was a child, I was afraid of falling and getting hurt, because I would get in trouble if my mother found out." Now, even if I were physically abused, I would still take it in stride because journalists are now my greatest fear.Everyone who entered my life played the victim card when they left. Although I was being tortured mentally, I was unable to inform anyone. Always had the impression that the media were looking. The law required them to pay me something when I submitted the divorce papers. But I'm reluctant to discuss it. If I had the backing of the journalists, I could have accomplished everything.'
Prova expressed her displeasure by saying, "Do not publicize anything of mine without speaking- a few days ago, I posted this from my verified page. Like a few days ago, when I was fasting, I penned it in a soft tone. The news with a title ‘Prova had finally apologized' broke the following day. Why would I apologize? Since many people accuse me of being an attention seeker, I am saying these. But I'm afraid of getting news, so I don't want any limelight now. I've been treated unfairly so many times that I'm afraid that the media will write about it.'
Prova then addressed the journalists who were present. She requested that if someone writes bad things in her name on social handles or in the news, they should protest against it.
At the end of the press conference, a journalist asked Prova, ‘Why would all the journalists do this to you? Do you have any problems? If not, why would it happen to you?
In response, Prova said, 'I have the same question. Why would everyone do this to me? What is my problem?'
The actress then shared two experiences. Through which she highlighted the reason for her distance with journalists. She said, "Let me tell you two stories. A makeup room. Where we usually sit under the AC after our shooting. So one day I was sitting in the green room.
A photographer and a journalist came. I told them to sit. Then I applied powder on my face and prepared myself for makeup. And without any warning, they started taking pictures. I said, 'Why are you taking pictures?' He said, 'I am a journalist'. What does it mean? He is a journalist, so I don't have any privacy?'
After hearing story number two, everyone present was confused. Prova said, “Number two. After shooting, I took an Uber. A journalist also got up with me and sat next to me. He told me to drop him off at the airport. So he put his hand on my leg while talking. I said, 'Why did you touch me? None of my colleagues touch me like this.' Then he said sorry. He was a renowned journalist. I know, he apologized but didn't realize his mistake. He expressed his anger in other ways later. How can I be honest with journalists after all these?''
TV drama organization 'Abhinayashilpi Sangha' has taken a new initiative. A team called 'Legal Wings and Dialogue' has been formed to provide legal support to artists. Its official launch took place through a press conference on the evening of April 1. Prova shared her experiences in this press conference.
On April 2, she clarified her position with a statement, which further enraged journalists.
