‘Pett Kata Shaw’ and ‘Shabnam’ selected for IFFR

Nuhash's "Pett Kata Shaw" has been selected under Harbor section and Reetu's "Shabnam" has been selected for Ammodo Tiger Short Competition at the 52nd edition of IFFR.

Bangladeshi filmmaker Nuhash Humayun's web series "Pett Kata Shaw" and, artist Reetu Sattar's   short-film "Shabnam" have been selected for the 52nd edition of the prestigious International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR). The film festival is scheduled to inaugurate on January 25, 2023, in Netherlands.


Director Nuhash Humayun's "Pett Kata Shaw" is a Chorki Originals horror anthology web series that has been selected under the Harbor section of IFFR. Nuhash Humayun expressed his excitement on his Facebook account: "Our reinvention of Bengali ghost stories has already touched the imaginations of countless South Asian audiences. This is now an incredible opportunity to showcase the series internationally. A historic moment for a Bangladeshi OTT production to be presented at such an eminent European film festival.”


"Shabnam" is a short-film directed by artist Reetu Sattar. The short film has been selected for the Ammodo Tiger Short Competition.  “Shabnam” portrays the fragmented history of the fabrication of muslin and its scattered documentation across archives all over the world stitched together. The director shared the news on her Facebook page and thanked those who supported her in her journey.  


IFFR is a prestigious annual film festival held in Rotterdam, Netherlands, which focuses on independent and experimental filmmaking by showcasing emerging talents and established auteurs. The 52nd edition of the film festival will be held from January 25 to February 5, 2023.
