Popular Dhallywood actor Mahiya Mahi and husband Rakib Sarker have welcomed a baby boy.
She gave birth to the baby boy at United Hospital in Dhaka late on Tuesday.
Rakib Sarker took to Facebook to announce the news, seeking prayers for the mother and the newborn.
Sharmin Akter Nipa, popularly known as Mahiya Mahi, confirmed the news of her pregnancy on September 12 last year through a social media post.
The actor recently made the headlines when she was arrested at Dhaka airport upon her return from Saudi Arabia after performing Umrah on March 18.
A court ordered her to be sent to jail, but she walked out of there after securing bail in two cases.
Several producers and actors, including Jaya Ahsan, Redwan Roni, Shihab Shaheen and Ashfaq Nipun, condemned the actor's arrest who was eight months pregnant at the time.
