Producer and actor Ananta Jalil's "Din: The Day," helmed by Iranian director Murtaza Otash Jamjam, was released on Eid-ul-Azha, July 10, 2022. The film has reportedly opened in more than 100 cinema halls across the country.
Shot in different locations of Iran, Bangladesh, Lebanon, and Syria, the film stars Ananta himself and wife, Afiea Nusrat Barsha, newcomer Sumon Faruk, and many other actors from Lebanon and Iran.
Ananta and Barsha have recently paid a visit to the Madhumita Hall to meet their fans. The couple last engaged in promotional campaigns for their 2014 film “Most Welcome 2.”
While talking to the press, Barsha addressed the criticism that her film has received from netizens on social media. "It really hurts me that some people are deliberately spreading rumours and personally attacking me on social media. They are not respectful of my privacy and have shared lies about the time I took a short break from acting."
"I just don't understand why people can't appreciate good things. I mean, all we are trying to do is make our audiences happy and contribute to the well-being of our film industry. If we stopped making films tomorrow, trust me, we will be fine, " a teary-eyed Barsha said.
"Some people even accused us of forcing our garment workers to watch 'Din: The Day' in theatres. How would that even be possible? Our employees have all gone to visit their homes for Eid."
Barsha informed the press that she and her husband Ananta have been working on their upcoming film "Netri: The Leader."
"We are still in production. But it has been very disheartening to see the waves of hateful comments toward our efforts. If this continues, 'Din: The Day' will be our last film," said Barsha.
The joint Bangladesh-India production has been closely matching the box office success of “Poran;” however the reviews have been mostly mixed and the hype swiftly dwindling. The film was reportedly made on a 100-crore budget and released in 115 cinema halls.
