“Magic Bauliana 2022” is slated to premiere on Maasranga Television at the initiative of Sun Foundation. Sponsored by the flagship oral care brand ‘Magic’ from Square Toiletries Limited, the folk reality show will continue its tradition of presenting Baul music to the young generation of the country and abroad.
The news was announced at a press conference on Tuesday, May 10. Anjan Chowdhury, Chairman of Sun Foundation and Managing Director of Maasranga Television and Square Toiletries Ltd, Malik MD Sayeed, Head of Operations of Square Toiletries Ltd and other prominent figures were present during the announcement.
Speakers informed the press that a new book, compiling 110 Baul songs recorded in the last season, will be published soon. In addition, some visual contents have been produced containing the biographies of 35 talented Baul artists and their contributions to folk music, which will be posted on the Facebook page of Magic Bauliana.
The fourth season of “Magic Bauliana” introduced a new rule which would allow anyone from Bangladesh and abroad to participate in the competition by singing Bangla folk song.
Registration for the 4th season will continue till May 26, 2022. The auditions will be held in seven regions of Bangladesh - Dhaka, Chittagong, Sylhet, Rajshahi, Rangpur, Kushtia and Mymensingh.
Renowned artists Shafi Mandal, Shahnaz Belly and Arif Dewan will be the judges at the main competition.
