'Phoenix Rising': Evan Rachel Woods sheds light on Marilyn Manson abuse allegations

Update : 25 Feb 2022, 03:50 PM

In 2021, "Westworld" actor Evan Rachel Woods raised sexual abuse allegations again ex-fiance and singer Marilyn Manson.

A two-part documentary, titled "Phoenix Rising," is now dropping on HBO, providing a detailed account of the abuse.

The title is inspired by Wood's succesful lobbying for passage of The Phoenix Act, which increased the statute of limitations for domestic violence cases in California.

As per HBO, the documentary details Woods' "experience as a survivor of domestic violence to pursue justice, heal generational wounds and reclaim her story."

Wood, 33, who dated Manson, 52, for three years and got engaged to him in 2010,  accused Manson of severe emotional and sexual abuse.

She said Manson had started grooming her when she was a teenager.

"It’s nothing like I thought it was going to be,” Wood says in the trailer about a music video she shot with Manson. “We’re doing things that were not what was pitched to me. We had discussed a simulated sex scene, but once the cameras were rolling, he started penetrating me for real. I had never agreed to that…It was complete chaos. I did not feel safe. No one was looking after me.”

"I realized I was not the only woman this happened to. We need to make sure this doesn’t happen to anyone else."

HBO will release the documentary on March 15.
