Popular actor Riaz Ahmed’s father-in-law Abu Mohsin Khan committed suicide on Wednesday night at his home in the capital’s Dhanmondi area.
He shot himself in the head while appearing on a live video on Facebook. He was 56 years old.
Actor Riaz has been married to Abu Mohsin Khan’s daughter Mushfika Tina since 2007.
Riaz talked to reporters on Thursday after his visit to the Dhaka Medical College Morgue.
"I am pleading with everything -- please pray for my father's departed soul. May he eternally rest in heaven. That's all I have to say."
Earlier, Riaz informed the police that he and his wife had no prior knowledge about Abu Mohsin's death. The family will accept the outcome of the police investigation.
According to UNB, Abu Mohsin committed suicide with his own licensed gun at his residence. He was a businessman by d profession. During that Facebook Live, he talked about his loneliness, upheavals in family life, battle with cancer, and several other miseries.
