The first poster of Bangladeshi filmmaker Shabnam Ferdousi’s debut feature film “Ajob Karkhana” was revealed on Thursday, January 13.
The film has previously been nominated for the prestigious Asia Select (NETPAC Award) at the 27th Kolkata International Film Festival.
“Ajob Karkhana” received the national film grant in the 2016-17 fiscal year. Produced by filmmaker and media personality Samia Zaman, the film stars prominent Indian actor Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Dilruba Hossain Doyel, Shabnaz Sadia Emi, Khalid Hasan Rumi and others.
The soundtrack features five songs, four of which are based on Helal Hafiz’s poems. Popular bands Vikings, Seven Minutes and singer Labik Kamal Gaurob worked on the songs.
The film revolves around a Bangladeshi rock star who finds new purpose of life after meeting Baul musicians. It will have its premiere at the Bangladeshi Panorama section of the 20th Dhaka International Film Festival, which kicked off on Saturday, January 15.
Influential documentary filmmaker Shabnam Ferdousi has made more than forty documentaries and won the National Film Award in 2016. “Ajob Karkhana” marks her first foray into feature films.
