South Korean singer Psy’s “Gangnam Style” is no longer the most-watched video on YouTube as American rapper Wiz Khalifa’s “See You Again feat. Charlie Puth” surpassed the Korean song on the Google-owned platform, late on Monday.
The soundtrack from Furious 7 which was uploaded back in 2015 on YouTube, has exceeded Psy’s song which has been topping the list for five years.

At the time when this report was written, “See You Again” had close to 2.896 billion views, compared to the 2.894 billion views of “Gangnam Style.”
The popularity of “Gangnam Style” had previously forced YouTube to rewrite its code after the platform’s video-sharing platform’s play counter was unable to keep up. This was because it had exceeded the maximum number of views possible – 2,147,483,647.
Psy’s “Gangnam Style” was first uploaded to YouTube in July of 2012, and became the most-watched video within November that year. It became the first video to clock one billion views on YouTube in December of 2012, and the first video to reach two billion views in May 2014.
On the other hand, Wiz Khalifa’s “See You Again” was first uploaded on YouTube in April of 2015, and owes some of its popularity to the fact that it was written for and featured on the soundtrack of The Fate of the Furious.
