With the first part of 2017 over, all kinds of calculations have begun. Its not only about hits or flops, the calculations also tend to determine the hit actors and actresses for the year. One such poll was arranged by a leading magazine in India to elect the best actresses based on the first half of the year. Kangana Ranaut seems to have top the list for her acting in Rangoon.
The actress was simply spectacular in this film, overshadowing both her co-stars Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan without even trying. Kangana portrayed the role of an actress from the 40s. Critics praised her acting saying, “There’s not one moment in the entire film that Kangana lets her character Julia down. She is naive, sweet, and vulnerable under her strong demeanor. She is a woman helplessly in love and not ashamed to admit it.” Clearly people found that very appealing. With 41.12 percent, Kangana emerged on the top of the list.
Anushka Sharma secured the second spot but is far behind Kangana, receiving 27.14 percent of the votes for her performance in Phillauri where she played the role of a ghost that haunts a guy for salvation. Young gun, Alia Bhatt took the third place for her exploits in Badrinath Ki Dulhania.
